ABOUT Junior Achievement's mission is to ensure that every student in Central New Year has a fundamental understanding of the free enterprise system. Our purpose is to inspire and educate young people to value free enterprise, business and economics to improve the quality of their lives. Volunteers from the community meet face-to-face with students in the schools for interactive learning and sharing. Junior Achievement has been in Central New York for more than 40 years. Junior Achievement of CNY was brought to Syracuse in 1965 by various local business leaders and superintendents of local public and parochial schools. Since that time, JA of CNY has grown from less than 200 students in Syracuse to more 15,000 students from schools in Onondaga, Cayuga, Oswego and Madison counties.
