Official Battle Rules & Information

*At least 50% of your band must be in middle/high school. No band members can be out of high school for more than one year.

* Original music is ENCOURAGED, but not required. However, if your band plays covers, these songs will not be included on any audio or video recordings of the show. This is due to reproducing copy-written work of another.

* Each band will be given 12 minutes to play; tracking the time is the responsibility of each band. Make sure you have your 12-minute set locked down, as judges will also be keeping track of time. If you play over your 12 minutes you will lose points and your power will be turned off.

* Absolutely no obscene, offensive lyrics or gestures while performing will be tolerated. It will be the sole decision of the panel of judges to determine what is obscene or offensive. Breaking of this rule is grounds for immediate disqualification.

* On the day of the performance, band members must be dressed in clothing free of obscenities, drugs, alcohol, sex or other subject matter not suitable for a family audience. If a band incites moshing or any other sort of violence in the crowd, the band will be disqualified.

* Each band must bring one adult (at least 21 years old) chaperone to supervise the band at all times.

* By entering Juniorpalooza, each contestant grants an exclusive, royalty-free, and irrevocable right to photograph and record the show, and license to publish, print, edit or otherwise use the contestants entry, in whole or in part, for any purpose and in any manner or media in perpetuity and to license others to do so without limitation or compensation.

* Each band will be assigned a time to play at least 7 days in advance and must be ready to go in the "on deck" area back stage 30 minutes before performance. If a band is not ready to go during the assigned time, they will be disqualified.

* Immediately after each band's 12-minute set, you must pick up your gear and exit the stage so the next band can set up.

* The Palace Theatre, Junior Achievement of CNY, JA Worldwide, and other vendors that are part of Juniorpalooza are not responsible for damage or theft of personal property.

* Abuse or theft of the provided equipment is grounds for immediate disqualification.
